Masterpieces of Ukrainian music 70-90 years

“Chamber Ensemble Nota Bene Chamber Group. Masterpieces of Ukrainian music of the 70s and 90s”.

I am happy that I can finally tell about the team victory! Another cherished project of mine won among powerful candidates for the Grant 2020 from the Ukrainian Cultural Fund! And I want to introduce it – “Chamber Ensemble Nota Bene Chamber Group. Masterpieces of Ukrainian music of the 70s and 90s”.

In June-August 2020, we are working hard on it, and at the end of August we will present a published art book with two CDs containing music performed by the NB Chamber Group.

The goal of the project is to promote Ukrainian academic music of the 70s and 90s, a period that is a gap in the country’s artistic history. The implementation of the project will contribute to the integration of Ukraine into the world cultural space and the enrichment of the Ukrainian and world musical paradigm.

The project will present the works of thirteen well-known Ukrainian composers V. Sylvestrov, O. Kiva, Ya. Gubanov, V. Poleva, L. Grabovskyi, O. Shchetynskyi, V. Hodziatskyi, O. Grinberg, V. Baley, V. Runchak,I. Karabyts, V. Bibik, E. Stankovich performed by musicians of the new generation, laureates of international and all-Ukrainian competitions R. Lopatinsky, A. Pavlov, A. Poludenny, Yu. Nemyrovsky, M. Grinchenko, I. Hrytsyshin and singer Inna Galatenko, invitation to the project.

The ideological inspiration and compiler of the collection is the outstanding Ukrainian composer, laureate of the Shevchenko Prize, Viktoriya Poleva: “In my opinion, the 70s and 90s of the 20th century are a very interesting period in the development of the Ukrainian school of composers, because along with the destruction of the aesthetic paradigm imposed by the Soviet system, the scheme of rebellion, introduced into the artistic situation by the work of the sixties, is also disintegrating. A new aesthetic ideal is emerging, not related to resistance to social pressure, a new freedom of acceptance of the world is emerging, which is manifested in the service of harmony in various guises and the fight against chaos. Thus, the zeitgeist of the 70s and 90s finds a new constant in the coordinate system of the macrocosm, rather than a separate system”

The head of the project is the manager of the Nota Bene Chamber Group and the founder of the NGO “Friends of Music” Olena Perederii. The project manager of the project is Darya Sipigina (S. T. ART Foundation).

The producer of the project is the founder of S.T. ART Foundation Tatiana Shved (Bezkoravayna): “The implementation of the project is a positive signal to the world community about the existence of a little-known, but powerful and influential period in the modern musical art of Ukraine.”

In the final stage of the project, an online presentation will be held with the participation of the composers participating in the project.

The project is implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
